Ok so im a little new to the whole over clocking bit and before i do i wanna know what are good tempatures to be running at so im gonna list my specs, and my temps i've been running at according to MBM5, i have 2 fans blowing air out the back one on the side blowing air in and one on the front blowing air in. Ok here goes im gonna try to get the info on here ok i attached them to here as html format and txt format. Ill also post some of the info. 'Memory DRAM Type DDR-SDRAM DRAM Size 2048 MBytes DRAM Frequency 133.3 MHz (DDR266.6) FSB: DRAM 1:1 CAS# Latency 2.5 clocks RAS# to CAS# 3 clocks RAS# Precharge 3 clocks Cycle Time (TRAS) 6 clocks DRAM Idle Timer 16 clocks # of memory modules 4 Module 0 Xerox DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 1 Xerox DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 2 Nanya Technology DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 3 Nanya Technology DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes ' Your ram is DDR 400 (PC3200) and its only running at 266 (2100) underclocked bad bad bad. Thare should be a bios setting to change it to 400.that should make a BIG dif.

Ok i see what you mean, but when im in my bios i cant seem to find anything about frequency. All i see is all the CAS latency and stuff like that. Now i figured i could look around the settings untill i saw a number that was 133 or 266, and then i knew i was looking at the right stuff BUT the only number i can find that is 133 is calculated automaticcally by my cpu speed, if i switch my CPU speed to manual. Then i can change the number. So i changed it from 133 to 135. This is what happened Memory DRAM Type DDR-SDRAM DRAM Size 2048 MBytes DRAM Frequency 135.0 MHz FSB RAM 1:1 CAS# Latency 2.5 clocks RAS# to CAS# 3 clocks RAS# Precharge 3 clocks Cycle Time (TRAS) 6 clocks DRAM Idle Timer 16 clocks # of memory modules 4 Module 0 Xerox DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 1 Xerox DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 2 Nanya Technology DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes Module 3 Nanya Technology DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes so my DRAM freq went from 133 to 135. So it looks like i changed the right number but.

The number i changed wasnt under the memory settings tab, and it also. Overclocks my pc im now running at L2 Speed 2430.0 MHz (Full) so if i keep bumping this number up its gonna overclock my proc it looks like. Which i dont wanna do right now without proper cooling. The only settings i see in the memory part of bios are Voltage settings that says 2.5t 1.5t etc and i dont want to change those unless i know for sure thats what i need to do to get my memory up to where it should be. The first thing you should do is get a better heatsink/fan for your cpu as your temps are far too high.

Get one that’ll provide cooling for a P4 3ghz or above. A cpu running at normal speeds should be well under 50c. I’m not really sure about system temps but 39c also seems a bit high, sound like you’ve got your comp next to blast furnace. Really bizarre that you havn’t got fsb/memory ratio in your bios. Your memory should be running 130mhz faster which is a big increase in performance. With some Award bios versions pressing ctrl + F1 opens up more options, worth a try I guess. As far as your graphics card goes I think the ATI 9550 and TI 4200 are pretty similar so I wouldn’t expect a massive increase in frame rate.
