Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Quadro 4000 for MAC It definitely a bargain compared to Quadro 4800. As an amateur photographer, retouching using Photoshop is almost a standard now. Compared to my MAC and the original AMD display card, Quadro 4000 boosts the performance to at least 2 - 3 times faster and it is just so smooth. However, for all buyer who wants to get this card run at top performance, you need to install the Nvidia driver and CUBA driver before you install the card. You are just not able to install the driver if you have already installed the card.

It took me quite some time to know it and I have to put the AMD card back to run the installation. They did not mention it on the installation guide but I found it on Nvidia forum. Rated 4 out of 5 by Basil I.

From Now an excellent upgrade. Nvidia has addressed there lack of attention to the driver support for this particular card the card is an excellent upgrade to an Intel based MACs. I primarily work in am a animator compositor, video editor and photographer.

I use the Adobe CS suite extensively and this card has accelerated my work flow in every application. The one down side was the instructions for installation on a MAC were slightly sparse. With a little trial and error you will realize the extra cable in the kit goes from the graphics card to an inconspicuous receiving slot on the mother board. A green light will signal success. Rated 5 out of 5 by ScottMD80 from Pleasantly Surprised I was very worried about installing this card on my MacPro because of problems other people have had. I needed to speed up After Effects so I finally installed this video I purchased from B&H. I did a little research and found out that Mac OS 10.8 had the drivers for the Quadro 4000 built in.

Before I installed the card I updated my OS to 10.8.1, then all I had to do was install the nVIDIA card and every thing worked great. Now my After Effects fly's, my Premier Pro will play back full resolution with effects added without dropping a frame. Great Upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Derek from Really Really Good!!! Used for Premiere Pro. Also have ATI Radeon 5770. Have had no problems at all with using theses cards together.

The Quadro 4000 really kicked things into gear. I use several layers of video with effects on all of them at all times. System was boggin down so I got this card and it's really doing the job. Still has trouble a couple of times, but I'm really pushing my system and the problem is now probably my process is too slow. But yes when I put this card in, I noticed complete difference in my workflow. Kinda surprised really, and happy. Mac late 2009.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug from A Must For Adobe CS5.5! I just purchased a new Mac Pro 8 Core and beefed it up before the imminent release of Final Cut Pro X.

The unit had been ordered with an HD Radeon 5780 graphics card. After jumping ship on FCP X and switching to Adobe Premiere Pro Production Suite CS5.5, I realized I needed to swap video cards for several of the new 64-bit video software programs built around CUDA technology. There are only two power plug-in's for graphic cards on the Mac Pro's motherboard. Unfortunately the Radeon HD 5780 occupied both of these power plug in's. After a lot of careful research I opted to run a two card system: a nVIDIA Quadro 4000 (for graphics and rendering acceleration) and a Radeon HD 5770 (for general processing).

Fast and stable! Shreds through renders!

If you can afford it, this two card set up is the way to go for video production and color correction. Rated 4 out of 5 by EdO from Works as advertised I bought this card to speed up the rendering and timeline review of effects in Premiere Pro CS6. Realtek rtl8192e wireless lan 802.11n pci e nic driver for mac.

When adding some effects, the timeline would stutter or completely freeze for seconds so I couldn't judge the effect of the change. With the Quadro card in place, the time to see the effect of the effect is reduced a lot.

Nvidia quadro 4000 review

The semi-disappointing aspect of this purchase is that I thought I would see dramatic improvement while in fact, it's only incremental. Maybe there are some settings I need to adjust to maximize the use of the card.

From a cost/benefit aspect I'm not sure about the results. Getting the $ rebate certainly helps.I have since learned that the card helps the CUDA processing but does not speed up the graphics display on-screen - something that I didn't realize before in my naivet. Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeff M. From Speeds up Premiere CS5.5 As of this post, this is the most affordable graphics card you can get that will increase performance in Premiere Pro CS5.5 and it's mercury playback engine. Although, I did not see a performance increase with Encore, After Effects, or Photoshop - only Premiere Pro. It doesn't do anything for the Final Cut Studio 3 suite which I already had installed. It won't make Apple software run significantly faster or better than the stock graphics card, which in my case was the ATI 5770.

At first I left the ATI 5770 in my mac along with the Quadro because I thought it would somehow supercharge my system, but then Premiere started to crash on me and I assumed it was because of having two different graphics cards installed. I'm no expert, so I may be wrong, but after I took out the ATI 5770, Premiere Pro stopped crashing. At the end of the day, I really don't see that much of a speed increase with the Quadro to warrant the price. I was editing an AVCHD 1080p timeline and there was still a lag in playback at times and when I applied any Magic Bullet effects, I had to render. The Quadro didn't seem to speed up render times by that much IMO. I had some extra money, so I could afford the Quadro 4000, but if I didn't have the money - I am hesitant to recommend this card to Premiere editors on a budget.

It works as advertized, but did not impress me. Rated 5 out of 5 by Chrissand from For CS users on a MacPro a 'must have' There seem to be a lot of older negatives about this card on the @but most seem to apply to OS X 10.6. I am on Lion and had absolutely no issues. I think it is important to install the driver & CUDA before the card!PP now shows much less render need. AE previews are speeded up.For those still patiently waiting for a real refresh of the MacPro, this is a good partial solution if you are an Adobe CS user.Oh and it uses a lot less electric power than the behemoth ATI Radeon.
